I am leading an EPIC collaboration with loads of great researchers involved already and this is a note to let people know it's not too late to get involved if you're keen. THIS WINTERWe are collecting male and female C.pagurus from a range of size classes for a size at maturity study. What: comparisons between morphometic / visual assessment / histological assessment of maturity. Fecundity at size. Size at Maturity. Regional variation. You will need: dispensation to land undersized animals Collecting: NOW Complete collection: Jan 2015 Data analysis: March 2015 I have a complete laboratory and data management protocol available. The data from your area is yours to use for your local fisheries stock assessments / local management / reports / regionally specific publications etc... I will combine all our datasets for a regional size at maturity paper. All participants are authors. We have collaborative partners from: Galway (Ireland), Isle of Man, Orkney (Scotland), Bridlington & Devon (England) and I am covering North and South Wales. If you want in: get in quick! If you want the results: stay tuned! It's just too exciting! Jodie Email me at work if you don't want to respond here: j.haig@bangor.ac.uk

Pretty sure my supervisor Andrew Rowley (A.F.Rowley@Swansea.ac.uk) would be keen to help out (or supply volunteers) if you're ever in need of a hand in South Wales (Swansea area).. we've had a few researchers from Bangor come and use our facilities before so always happy to lend a hand
